The short-woolled hornless breeds are thefollowing:—The Hereford (Jig. 122.) have very fine wool, which grows close to their eyes,the legs and face being white : the store sheep of this country are called CoUings or South Down, principally cultivated on the chalky downs of Sussex, have the face andlegs gray, and are highly esteemed for the table.
