AERIAL RAILWAY AT GIBRALTAR. A suspended cable railway has recently been installedat Gibraltar to connect the signal station on the cliff withthe south end of the town. The station could formerlv. be reached only by a laborious climb. The span is 300yards to the edge of the cliff, at which point a high trestleis erected to keep the cable in the air until it reaches thetop. The road has one supporting and one propellingcable. It is used for both freight and passengers. BROOKLYN ROADS. The rumors of consolidation and sale of the Brooklynsystems have been so numerous for some months pastthat little seems to be known about the actual conditionof affairs. There has been no consolidation in a legalsense. The Long Island Traction Company, which issimply an investment company, owns the BrooklynHeights Railroad Company. The Brooklyn Heightsleased the Brooklyn City in February 1893. The LongIsland Traction Company also owns the Brooklyn, QueensCounty and Suburban, which latter road recently pur-chased the Broadway, Ferry & Metropolitan AvenueRailroad and the Jamaica & Brooklyn Railroad.
