After 50 years fighting against the Nantes airport construction project and more than 10 years squatting on the 4000 acres land, 300 activist who are living in the area have been military attacked by the government who wanted to put an end to the autonomous project. A thousand antiriot police destroyed 80% of self-constructed houses. Using tear gases, grenades and flash balls the police squad provoked a large number of injuries within the members and supporters of the ZAD, including a 21 years old protester who lost his hand due to a grenade thrown by police forces.
