Higginsia kenyensis (Fig. 20, 22) Occurrence: North Kenya Banks (02°'S - 40°'E), depth 50 m, dredge, 19 January 1973. Holotype: msng 48300. The specimen, in the dry state, apparently a fragment, consists of anastomosed cylindrical digitations 1 cm thick. The papillae are about 5 mm high and as much apart. The spicules are 1) Styles measuring 450-580 x 18-23 |im. 2) Oxeas measuring 260-370 x 9-12 |im. 3) Oxeas slightly curved, often flexuous, measuring 240-370 x firn. 4) Microacanthoxeas straight, curved or bent, measuring 30-60 x \\m, spines not included.
