Among the many interesting treasures found in theImperial Museum of Antiquities is the sarcophagusof Alexander. This is one of the finest examples inthe museum and considered to be the best relic ofancient art. When the author visitedthe thousand and one churches, along with the lateSir Charles Wilson, in 1882. he hoped that someattention might be given to these ruins, which areperhaps the most interesting in Asia Minor forchurch antiquities.
