200126-N-MD802-1014 BAB AL-MANDEB STRAIT (Jan. 26, 2020) The Bataan Amphibious Readiness Group transits through the Bab al-Mandeb Strait alongside the guided-missile destroyer USS Farragut (DDG 99). Farragut is deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
