The engines are rated at 600 ihp, at one-quarter cut-offand a speed of 100 r. p. m. The generators deliver at 380 volts,which passes directly through the switchboard to the rotaryconverters at the station or to the step-up transformers. There. The extension furnaces under the original Bab-cock & Wilcox boilers are also now being replaced by standard are two 300-kw rotaries located in the power plant, this rotaryequipment being in duplicate of that at the new exciters include a steam and a motor-driven unit, the latterbeing used in preference to the steam-driven unit.
