Vertue has engraved his seal as Lord-Deputy of Ireland ; it hashis arms, with the same quarters as his fathers privy seal, impaling thoseof his ladys; with his own crest, viz. a lion with a double tail, holdinga spear, or javelin, the whole emblazoned and inscribed, Sigill,Henrici. Cromwell. Hibernle Depvtati ; the original was in thepossession of the lat Mr. William Cromwell.
