A rare matchlock target rifle,Cornelius Klett,Salzburg,dated 1671. Heavy octagonal barrel,swamped at the muzzle,with a six groove rifled bore in 17 mm calibre. Dovetailed brass front sight and iron,folding leaf rear sight. The chamber bears the brass filled mark "CK"(Stöckel No. 7699)of Cornelius Klett within the date 1671. Cut matchlock,worked in the style of a wheellock,with a swinging pan cover and a double set trigger. Carved walnut full stock with iron furniture.
