Mapped wetlands within the study area totaled 55,926 acres (22,633 hectares), comprising of the land area. By system, the majority (71%) of the mapped acres are palustrine wetlands (Figure 9). By class, freshwater emergent wetlands make up the majority (53%) of wetland acres (Figure 10). By water regime, temporarily and seasonally flooded wetlands are the most common (Figure 11).
