Tenodesis shoulder tendon surgery, illustration. This operation is carried out to repair a tear in a tendon, in this case the biceps tendon that connects the biceps muscle to the head of the humerus (upper arm bone). Sutures are being used to draw the tendon into a hole drilled in the attachment point of the tendon, and a screw (right) used to fix the tendon in place.
