Stamens as many ortwice as many as the petals; anthers linear, longitudinally dehiscent. Pistil i (rarely sev-eral) ; ovary ovoid, many-ovuled, forming a large fleshy berry in fruit. Seeds numerous,obovate, enclosed in fleshy arils.
