The new Marine Parade Bridge (Marine Way Bridge) is the next important step in the regeneration of the Southport Seafront. The Bridge will provide an important transport link, will help to better integrate the Town and the Seafront and will provide a catalyst for future investment and regeneration. The total cost of the project is estimated at £ to be funded from the Local Transport Plan, North West Development Agency and Sefton Council. The design of the Scheme has taken into account feedback from numerous consultation exercises, which have taken place over the years and will build upon the tradition of bold modern municipal projects. These include the highly acclaimed Seawall works and the Pier Restoration both have recently been completed.
