c 1940's - An old photograph of the Roebuck Inn, Stevenage, UK i a once popular 1940's motorist's stop on the Great North Road (Formerley a prehistoric trackway route and later Roman road) UK . The road was frequented by highwaymen and Dick Turpin, is said to have stayed at the inn and escaped the authorities through a window after they tracked him down there.
