An English jester entertaining Spanish ladies during a visit by Prince Charles to Madrid in February 1623. The Spanish Match was a proposed marriage, between Charles and Infanta Maria Anna of Spain, the daughter of Philip III of Spain. However, the scheme proved to be unpopular with England's Protestant House of Commons.
