Harrogate’s Autumn Flower Show is the UK’s premier autumn gardening event offering spectacular colour, amazing produce and fabulous show gardens. Celebrating its 40th autumn show this year (18 – 20 September), the event will feature a new look lay-out, stunning new Plant Pavilion, a range of new harvest activities and a whopper of a new class in the giant veg competition. For the first time, nearly 100 spectacular plant nursery displays will all be under one roof in a Plant Pavilion marquee. And to add to the excitement, a new Showstopper Award has been introduced for the exhibit with the biggest WOW factor. Also new for 2015 is Harvest & Hedgerow celebrating nature’s bounty, both cultivated and countryside. Farming, foraging and feasting through the season's cornucopia will be talks, demonstrations and activities including discovering the free delicacies of hedge and field, what to do with seasonal finds, making the most of the annual produce mountain and exploring colours created by nature. Activities to mark this year’s 40th autumn show, held since 1995 at the Great Yorkshire Showground, include the launch of new sweet pea variety and a special ruby floral art display by the North East Area of NAFAS (National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies). Harrogate Spring Flower Show is the first big event in the gardening calendar, welcoming the new growing season with a spectacular celebration of the very best in horticulture.
