The Sheriff Court and District Court in Inverness Castle
Inverness Sheriff Court (in the foreground) and District Court (in the background) were built in the mid-nineteenth century on the site of the mediaeval castle. The District Court was originally built as Inverness Jail. The original castle was destroyed by the Jacobite army in 1745.
