Blue sky oblique view Main Street, from First National Bank Building to Bodega Buffaloo saloons, Deadwood, South Dakota, USA
The Buffalo Saloon building (with the image sign) was constructed as a pool-hall in 1879. It was damaged by fire in 1916 and known as the 'Buffalo Saloon' by the 1930s. The Bodega Saloon building dates to 1888, the Bodega Saloon occupying the first floor since 1893. The corner building, with the dates 1878-1910 on its cornice, originally housed the First National Bank of Deadwood, the dates referring to the bank's organisation in 1878 (the original building being destroyed in the big fire of 1879) and the current building's re-modelling in 1910. The building is now occupied by the Deadwood Gift Shoppe.
