Stadsschouwburg (City Theatre) The Bruges City Theatre (1869) is one of the best-preserved theatres of its kind in Europe and was fully restored in 2001. The sober neo-Renaissance facade of this royal theatre conceals a palatial foyer and an equally magnificent auditorium. This outstanding infrastructure is used for performances of contemporary dance and theatre and for concerts of various kinds.
