Thecompress wound about the neck is of very little use for theordinary sore throat in which the fauces and perhaps the ton-sils are involved. The compress is prepared as follows: For the wet com-press, fold a piece of cheese-cloth to four or six thicknesses,four inches in width, and length sufficient to reach one andone-half times around the neck. For the fiannel covering,provide a piece of soft blanket flannel eight inches wide andlong enough to reach around the head and beneath the chinand overlap an inch.
