Pluto's surface. Composite satellite image showing the unusual surface texture of the Tartarus Dorsa mountains on the surface of the dwarf planet Pluto. Here, the surface consists of strange patterns of blue-grey ridges with reddish material in between. Imaged by combining blue, red and infrared images obtained by the Ralph instrument's Multispectral Visible Imaging Camera (MVIC) on NASA's New Horizons interplanetary space probe, on 14th July 2015.
