River on walk to Protesters Falls in Nightcap National Park.

Nightcap National Park was preserved after protests about logging in the area. The time coincided with the Aquarius Festival in nearby Nimbin which saw much environmental activism. The Park is part of the Shield Volcano Group of the World Heritage Site Gondwana Rainforests of Australia inscribed in 1986 and added to the Australian National Heritage List in 2007.
