A good market sort, as well as for private pkt. oz. >^lb. lb. use 5 10 30 80 CARROTS. One ounce will sow 100 feet of drill. Tliree to four pounds will sow one acre. The carrot, like all other root crops, does best in light, loamy or sandy soil. Fresh manure should not be applied, as it has a tendency to make forked and badly shaped roots.
