A cavalry officer's sword, Saxon Electorate, circa 1730 Straight, double-edged blade of flattened hexagonal section and the crowned cipher "AR" on the ricasso. Brass hilt with remnants of gilding, a heart-shaped guard, knuckle-bow, and a fluted pommel. The grip is densely wound with copper wire. Cleaned blade with small rust pits. Length 96 cm. Cf.
