A German war chest, circa 1750 Rectangular body of sheet iron with banded fittings and a hinged lid, the front side with a sham lock with curved key plate and two drop bolts, laterally two movable carrying handles. The lid with a central keyhole, the lock plate with spring mounted shroud, original key, the lock housing with intact ward, locking mechanism with nine-fold latch. The original associated cover plate of sheet iron with original floral decor is laid in loose.
