A heavy Italian small sword,circa 1560 Sturdy thrusting blade of flattened hexagonal section and long ricasso,struck on each side with a wolf mark. Simple iron knuckle-bow hilt cut with a design of ornaments and acanthus leaves. Fluted ebony grip,mounted with a quantity of brass pins. Heavy pommel set off by balusters and decorated en suite. Metal surfaces with even patina. Length 133 cm.
