STS-68, Space Shuttle Endeavour, 1994

The antennae of the second Space Radar Laboratory, (SRL-2), seen in the payload bay of Shuttle Endeavor during STS-68. The antenna consists of two primary sections. The largest is the Shuttle Imaging Radar-C, (SIR-C), consisting of the large central panels and the smaller panels along the left. Along the right edge of the array is the X-band Synthetic Aperture Radar, (X-SAR), a German-Italian instrument. SRL-2 was designed to provide radar images of Earth for geology, hydrology, and oceanography researchers. STS-68 flew from 9/30/94 - 10/11/94.
