YOGYAKARTA, INDONESIA: INCREDIBLE abseiling pictures from a three hundred-foot deep vertical cave with a dark history have been captured by a husband and wife team. Pictures and video show the sheer scale of the ascent into the black cave highlighted by sun rays peeping through the mouth of the hollow. The eerie abseil into the black took place in Indonesia’s Jomblang Cave, dubbed ‘massacre cave’ due to its ghastly past where in 1965 hundreds of members of the PKI, Communist party of Indonesia, were allegedly taken and massacred. Stories surrounding this cave still haunt the local villagers and the history is so murky it is not known exactly how many people were killed. With the help of friendly locals, photographer Rick White (35) and his wife Katie White (36) took the single rope descent to capture the atmospheric shots.
