Plaza De La Asuncion, one of the main squares in Jerez de la Frontera, Andalusia, southern Spain The tall statue in the centre of the plaza dates from the 1950s, is dedicated to the assumption of the Virgin Mary. The building behind is the Antiguo Cabildo, (Renaissance Cabildo) (1575) is the former town hall, with its elegant columned gallery.
