Since 2012, the Kueka stone has been subject to a claim for its return by the Venezuelan government on behalf of the Pemon tribe. German artist Wolfgang von Schwarzenfeld claims the stone was a gift from the Venezuelan authorities in 1999. The stone is part of Wolfgang von Schwarzenfeld's Global Stone Project designed to promote world peace.
