After overnight rain, a day of sunshine and showers developed. The town was less busy than on a typical Bank Holiday with few people swimming and no pedalos out on the sea. The day ended with dark clouds, thunder and more rain showers. Just along the coast, in Bournemouth, there was a vicious hailstorm at around 4 o'clock.
