Overlook Reservoir is four hundred feet above the Fitchbur: Railroad trackat the depot, and jNIarshall Reservoir has an elevation of two hundred and six-teen feet. These water-works have already proved themselves invaluable iucases of tire, and although a largo debt was incurred in their construction-, it isexpected that the water-rents will extinguish it in a reasonable time. In 18G8 the town purchased the estates of William W. Comme and IsaacHartwell, which estates covered the square in front of the Court-house, for thepurpose of erecting thereon a soldiers monument or memorial hall. In 187
