St Cleer C15th granite well house and baptistery, and adjacent Latin cross with carved Crucifixion, Bodmin Moor, Cornwall, UK.

St Cleer C15th well house and baptistery, and adjacent Latin stone cross with carved Crucifixion. The well house has a stone roof, columns and arches, and a niche at the front (W) containing a statue of St Cleer/St Clarus. Internal niches were provided to hold bathers' belongings. The cross with a carved Crucifixion was restored in 1864 in memory of Rev. John Jope. A bowssening pool, for the cure of insanity by the use of violent total immersion and sacred chants, was situated behind the well and fed by it.
