30 Doradus star clusters. Hubble Space Telescope (HST) image of star clusters (blue) in the Tarantula Nebula (30 Doradus, NGC 2070). What was thought to be a single cluster was found to be two clusters merging. The clusters differ in age by about a million years. Hot massive stars are blue, oxygen glows green, and fluorescing hydrogen is red. 30 Doradus is 170,000 light years from Earth, in the constellation of Dorado. Image data obtained 20-27 October 2009 by Hubble's Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) and its UVIS (ultraviolet and visible) sensor.
