Women with balloons promote British Railways London to Manchester train service and a banner on side of truck states: Try our new trains and a journey time of 2 hours and 35 minutes. Above them signs say: Faster, Cleaner by train. Scammell Lorries was a local Watford company and the company's distinctive 3-wheel low-loaders were a common sight on British roads in the sixties. The Townsman replaced the famous Scarab in 1967 and the new model featured a glass fibre body to its cab. In front of the tuck is another vehicle in the procession promoting the Volunteer Emergency Service. Behind the truck a man holds a sign in front of a mini-van with an illustration of a dog and the words: PDSA, your help is needed. This image is from an old amateur Kodak colour transparency.
