The punctures in the lateral grooves of the elytra, though simietimes irregular, and inclined to be more or less transverse behind, as a rule resemble those of M. quaestionis and mtstralasicus more closely than they do those of .1/. diJntatus. The small triangular frontal area is bounded laterally by high frontal ridges and inner tubercles, somewhat as is M. qmestionis, but is not itself elevated.
