This yearespecially is an importantepoch in the history ofdentistry in the Archipel-ago. Last February a newdental law was enacted,repealing bad features of the old: addingat least one, entirely original in dentallegislation, which it would be well for ourStates to copy. In the old law^ there wasa provision under which a local institutiongranted titles of [Minor Surgeon to stu-dents who attended a course of not lessthan two years, and studied dentistry forfour months. While this clause was en-acted twelve years ago with good inten-tion, one can see at a glance that it i; per-nicious. The
