Prince Albert (1819-1861), husband of Queen Victoria (1819-1901), commemorated by this metre-high (9 ft) uniformed statue in white Sicilian marble, standing on a plinth on the Castle Hill headland at Tenby, Pembrokeshire, Wales, United Kingdom. The Prince Consort Memorial was intended as the Welsh National Memorial to the German-born prince. It was the work of Welsh-born sculptor John Evan Thomas (1810-1873), a frequent exhibitor at the Royal Academy in London between 1835 and 1862.

It was intended as the Welsh National Memorial to the German-born prince. The monument was the work of Welsh-born sculptor John Evan Thomas (1810-1873). He was a frequent exhibitor at the Royal Academy in London between 1835 and 1862 and produced portrait busts for the Welsh landed gentry. His statue of the Duke of Wellington still stands in the centre of Brecon, his Second Marquess of Londonderry statue is at Westminster Abbey and his bronze likeness of the Second Marquess of Bute is in Callaghan Square, Cardiff.
