Fashionable post-revolutionary man in pink coat, green breeches, bonnet with rosette, striped stockings and cane. Francois-Claudius Compte-Calix (1813-1880) was a French painter and illustrator. A regular exhibitor at the Salons, he illustrated numerous books and several romantic books of poetry, and for many years contributed to the fashion magazine "Modes Parisiennes".
