Aldo Leopold WMA, Readlyn Iowa


WMAs (Wildlife Management Areas) in Iowa are set aside for the fisherman, hunter and nature enthusiasts. Named after the founding father of wildlife ecology Aldo Leopold. Leopold's book "Game Management" (1933) outlined techniques for managing and restoring wildlife populations. Leopold believed farming should be productive but not interfere with natural systems.
