Aubrey (IV, 40) thus describes the brass, which wasmore perfect in his time, in the chancel, on the northside, is a gravestone, which still bears the effigies of aman and a woman, both in a devotional posture; hedrawn in a gown, pouch, dagger, and label at his hood,part whereof appears above his shoulder; the inscriptionunderneath is, tho separated from the stone, preservedunder the chest near it.
