Tomb of John de Roos, Church of St Mary, Bottesford, Leicestershire


John de Ros, 8th Baron de Ros of Helmsley (1396-1421) was an English nobleman. The effigy lies on a tomb chest in the chancel. John de Roos was killed, along with his brother William, in the Battle of Baugé, France in 1421. He was buried at Belvoir Priory and, at the Dissolution, his monument was transfered to Bottesford church.
