These wehave carefully examined, and will proceed to describe, by thehelp of the accompanying illustrations, reduced from drawingsmade on the spot1. In the next place we will examine the systemadopted on the continent, which will be found, in some places atleast, to differ materially from that which was adopted in England. In the first of the above-mentioned libraries there are fivecomplete bookcases (fig. 2) and the ruins of two others. Each. Fig. 2.
