A coat of arms, anda pedigree in tabular form, were in ex-istence in 1872, tracing the lineage of theSherrard family back to Robert, whosefather emigrated with the Duke of Nor-mandy. There were two brothers, Hughand William Sherrard, whose father cameover from Scotland about 1710, and set-tled in Limavady, County Londonderry,Ireland.
