None of the skulls or other boneswere in sound enough condition to be preserved, but in the middle and at thebottom of the pit were found two very fine native copper implements. Both ofthese, when placed in the grave, were wrapped in Beaver skin, portions of whichyet adhere to one side of each implement. 28 with the bones of the deceased brave it was carefully wrapped inBeaver skin, a portion of which is still adherent to one side. As noEuropean traces were discovered about the burial place, it is safe to say that this implement is at least 260years old, and may be much more. Along with the curved knife alreadydescribed from Midland, there wasfound a very gracefully formed copper.
