Although specifically separable from F. (F.) alluaudi, the type species ofNeokanabiceras ColHgnon, 1965, A^. madagascariense Coflignon (1965: 42, (figs 1784-1786), including var. ankinatsyense (fig. 1787)), is a perfectlygood Forresteria (Forresteria) as is apparent from Wiedmanns recent re-illustration of the type material (in Herm, Kauffman & Wiedmann 1979: 44, , text-figs 7D, 8).
