The fall show of the Newport Horti- cultural Society, lield in Convention hall, at the Beacii, was fully up to the standard, notwithstanding adverse con- ditions, the ball on tlie closing evening attracting a larger crowd than ever before. The net jiroceeds will be divided equally between the horticultural soci- ety in France and the Newport chajiter of tlie American Red Cross. One of the features of tlie show was the unusually fine collection of foliage plants, the winning group, by Victor May, gar- dener to E. B.
