An air rifle with a screw-in buttstock, Stirba, Vienna, circa 1800. Octagonal iron tip-up barrel with smooth bore in 12 mm calibre. The signature "STIRBA" in an oval cartouche on top of the barrel. Engraved brass receiver with an iron lockplate inscribed "in Wien". Side plate engraved with hunting designs. The latch for the tip-up barrel in front of the trigger guard. Carved walnut full stock (crack in the lock area) with a brass nose cap and a shortened wooden ramrod. The iron air reservoir screws on.
