On entering the grand lobbyfrom the main entrances the traveler passes the ticket office, and inthe center are two information booths, so placed that the streamsof travel pass by one or the other of them. In the west end ofthe station are the baggage check counter, the cab stand, parcelroom, cigar shop, mens smoking and toilet room, barber shop and. On either side of the main waiting room are passages calledmidways, in which are the stairways and elevators leading tothe train platforms below. These midways are for the use of incom-ing passengers and to enable them to reach the grand lobby with-out passing through the waiting room. The gates through whichthe passengers go to reach their trains are located along the sidesof the waiting room; and the seats which will accommodate 750people, are arranged so that they can sit near the gates they willuse.
