Pictured, miracle dog Mitzi (4) owned Zoe Randle from Dorset. A horse trod on Mitzi`s paw, which meant she would probably have had to be put to sleep, but veterinary surgeons performed an operation grafting bone tissue from her chest into her leg and fitting a prosthetic paw to save her life. Mitzi was used as an example of what could be done as a veterinary conference held in Birmingham 2011.
